The City of Shelby retained TGS Engineers to perform construction engineering and inspection and oversight services on the first phase of the Shelby Uptown Streetscape project. The project site is Lafayette Street from East Graham Street to North of Dorton Street and Court Square. The $3.9M project involved roadway and streetscape improvements for the town square that includes pedestrian bulb outs. Improving underground infrastructure in addition to keeping citizens safe were the two goals for this locally funded project that was constructed to NCDOT and city standards.
