TGS is currently providing construction engineering services on behalf of Norfolk Southern on this US Army Corps of Engineers project in New Orleans, Louisiana. Having served on this project for years, TGS has provided surveys, railway design for track construction and structure design for a rail bridge over utility lines. The project is part of the Southeast Louisiana Urban Flood Damage Reduction Program (SELA). The Florida Avenue Improvement Project consists of widening the existing box culverts and flume sections of the canal to improve drainage and greatly reduce impacts of future storm flooding issues. In 2025, the project is in Phase IV.
