Multi-Use Trail Connector

The City of Hickory selected TGS Engineers to design a multi-use path along Main Avenue NW from 9th Street NW to 11th Street NW. The project EB-6038, also includes an additional multi-use path along 11th Street to Old Lenoir Road and from Old Lenoir Road along Clement Boulevard to US 321 as well as a pedestrian/bicycle bridge over US 321 to 13th Avenue NW. This project is approximately 2.6 miles in length and is a critical component of the 2018 BUILD Grant funded “Hickory Reconnected Through Transportation Infrastructure Investment” portion of the Crafting Hickory initiative which is a catalyst for economic growth and revitalization. The $17M federal transportation grant supports this project. This was a fast-track project. The NTP was received in November 2019, in ROW by April 2020 and final plans complete in June 2020.
