This project involved the widening of I-40/I-440 and a bridge replacement over a Norfolk Southern (NS) rail line on SR 1370 (Tryon Road) in Raleigh, North Carolina. Part of the NCDOT TIP U-4432 project, construction to replace bridge #259 began in mid-2015. The $15M project was completed and the structure accepted by the railroad in December 2016. The TGS team provided preliminary engineering services to Norfolk Southern and handled the CEI services for the overhead bridge with an active rail line during construction.
